Join the Super Strings!

Nearly half of all 1st through 5th graders at Avoca West participate in the strings program! Incoming first graders may choose to learn the violin, viola, or cello. The bass is offered beginning in the second grade. Stringed instruments come in many sizes to accommodate every child's individual stature. So, your child should choose the instrument that interests them.

Elementary school is an incredible time to begin learning a stringed instrument. Students at this age absorb information and learn so quickly! Their genuine excitement to try something new is contagious. It is incredibly rewarding to see our young musicians grow throughout the school year. They will thrive in a warm and encouraging environment while they receive one small group and one large group lesson each week. Most importantly, students get to make music with their friends!
